How it works
From a full photo folder
to a deliberate choice.
You see which pictures belong together and check the recommendation. Only then do you confirm the move.
- 01 · Find
Discover similar pictures
Sortwell scans the photos on your phone and groups duplicate or similar shots.
- 02 · Check
Keep the right photo
The app explains its recommendation, for example with sharpness or resolution. You can view every picture large and decide differently.
- 03 · Tidy up
Confirm first, then move
Android asks for your confirmation. Selected photos are moved to the Android trash.
Thought through
You keep the overview.
The recommendation helps you choose. The decision stays with you.
Favourites stay protected
Pictures marked as favourites are never selected for removal automatically.
Shrink large videos
Save and compare a smaller version. The original stays until you have checked the result.
Continue after a break
The scan runs in stages and can continue after an interruption.
Go through other pictures too
Check screenshots, older photos and chat pictures one by one and choose yourself.
Your photos
Compared on your phone.
Sortwell compares your photos on your device. For this comparison they are not uploaded to a TahiroLabs server.
Ads during the trial, crash reports and the optional face feature involve further data processing and transfers to Google. You find the details in the privacy policy.

Good to know
Your questions about Sortwell.
Is Sortwell already on Google Play?
Not publicly yet. Sortwell is currently in closed testing on Google Play. The public release will follow. As soon as the app is available to everyone, you will find the direct link here.
Which devices will Sortwell run on?
Sortwell is planned for Android 11 or newer. An iPhone version is currently not available.
What happens after the seven trial days?
Without a subscription Sortwell is locked. The trial takes no payment details. No subscription is taken out for you automatically.
Can I change the app's selection?
Yes. Sortwell recommends a photo and explains the choice. You check the pictures and decide yourself which ones stay.
What happens to moved photos?
Sortwell uses the Android trash. There, photos can be restored before they are deleted for good. You reach the restore option through the trash view on your device.
How do I cancel?
In Sortwell, Settings, "Manage subscription". It opens your Google Play subscriptions. After you cancel, the subscription runs until the end of the current billing period you have already paid for, then ends. That period follows your purchase or renewal date, not the calendar month or year. In Germany, in addition: once your yearly plan has renewed automatically, you can cancel it at any time with one month's notice. Write to kontakt@tahirolabs.com; we refund on a pro-rata basis what you have already paid for the time after that. Details are in the terms of use.
Are there ads or other data transfers?
During the trial, one banner on two screens, never while you tidy up. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland you choose on first start whether ads may be personalised; elsewhere you control it in the Android settings. No ads with a subscription. Information on Google services, crash reports and the optional face feature is in the privacy policy.
